2022 est un millésime exceptionnel à plusieurs titres : Climat exceptionnel, couleur très profonde, forte intensité gustative et superbe concentration des arômes.

« Couleur profonde, avec des reflets violacés. L’expression aromatique est complexe, précise, avec nuances de mûre, de myrtille et de réglisse. Le boisé est bien intégré, la bouche est fraîche, la texture continue et un caractère pulpeux est perceptible en finale. »

« Le cru s’envole dans ce millésime, avec un fruit très expressif et beaucoup de fond. Il remplit la bouche, avec ses notes de gelée de fruits rouges et une finale aux tanins soyeux. »
Terre de Vins : 96-97
« Un rendement plus « confortable » a permis un assemblage exigeant. A sa finesse habituelle s’ajoutent une robe profonde, un grand fruité évoquant la gelée de myrtille, un côté juteux appétissant et une fine note fumée. La trame tannique est parfaite, présente mais souple, suffisamment élancée et svelte pour traverser le temps. »

Depuis une vingtaine d’années, les progrès sont impressionnants et le millésime 2022 marque une étape importante. Avec ses notes de réglisse, il est séducteur tout en
masquant une belle densité. D’un grand classicisme, il a gagné en élégance pour s’installer parmi les grands Pauillacs avec un imbattable rapport prix qualité.

« Cool blue fruits on the nose, a little shy at this point. Intensely fruited, really rich and ripe but clean and clear, giving a depth of ripe blackcurrants but juicy, fresh and alive. Almost sharp, it’s intense with bite to the fruit and such lean tannins that give a firm but light grip to the mouth. I like the attack, it’s bold and confident but refined at the same time. Good fruit profile, balancing acidity and lovely lean, mineral tannins. Well structured, nothing too much or overdone with freshness throughout. Well worked with precision. Spicy, black pepper, cedar, tobacco, liquorice, a touch of coffee, but all giving nuance underneath the fruit, tannins and acidity. It’s concentrated no doubt, this has power, but is presented carefully with such a lifted, juicy finish. This will be a beauty. »

« Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Very fine nose with fragrant fruit, blackcurrant, blackberries, hints of mild spices and subtle oak. On the palate well-balanced with juicy fruit, sweet red and dark berries, discreet toasting. Fine spiciness in the aftertaste with very convincing length. »

« Inky, powerful colour, edges of heady incense on the nose but this feels more rooted in Paullac for me than many vintages of Lynch Moussas, delivering intense cassis and dark fruit character, edges of crushed rose petals, clove and tar. Plenty of fresh mint leaf coming through as well, with a real sense of poise. It feels like part of the Château Batailley family this year, more than usual, a buy. 57% new oak. »

« Lynch Moussas ist das aufstrebende Schwestergut von Batailley aus Pauillac. Der Lynch Moussas 2022 besteht aus 74 % Cabernet Sauvignon und 26 % Merlot, ausgebaut in 57 % neuen Barriques. Schwarze Farbe. Dicht und enorm fleischig im Geruch, besitzt der Lynch Moussas eine sehr gute Intensität mit balsamischen Noten im Obertonbereich. Auch im Mund zeigt er sich satt, intensiv strukturiert und sehr kompakt, mit massiver, dichter Gerbstoffausbeute. Sehr stimmige Extraktion mit viel Rasse und druckvoller Tiefe. Cremige Süße und schöne, runde Art mit Cassis im Nachhall. »

« The nose shows its tobacco leaf, cedar, lead pencil and currant side with a single swirl. On the palate, the wine is soft, polished, and fresh, with black raspberries, currants, licorice ,and most importantly, sweetness, and lift to the red berries as well as a nice licorice accent on the back of the finish. Give it a few years in the cellar before pulling a cork, and it will be even better. The wine blends 74% Cabernet Sauvignon with 26% Merlot. 14% ABV. 3.7 pH. The harvest took place September 8 – September 27. Drink from 2026-2050. »

« 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot. Lynch-Moussas poursuit sa progression vers le haut avec une série de détails supplémentaires qui ornent la complexité du bouquet ! Invitantes nuances de réglisse et de baies noires complétées par des notes de graphite. En bouche le vin annonce de la finesse. Il est un peu en retrait en attaque, mais rapidement le corps et les tannins se chargent de lui conférer un bon support tandis que la structure acide dynamise la fin de bouche. Un vin qui commence à bien se profiler d’un point de vue vigueur et fraîcheur. 2029-2047 »

« The 2022 Lynch-Moussas was picked September 1-27, mostly in the morning with a light pumping over, aged in 57% new oak with 14,2% alcohol. It is quintessentially Pauillac on the nose, with pencil shavings infusing the black fruit. Very composed and linear at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky entry. The acidity is nicely judged here, lending this Pauillac freshness and tension, quite precise with delicacy on the finish that is a welcome surprise after the warmth of te growing season. Excellent. »

« Joli nez bien fruité, bouche souple, droite, baies noires, réglisse, finale tannique ; sérieux. Un vin gourmand en première partie, serré ensuite, assez élégant. »

« Beau rouge pourpre, aux reflets noirs. Nez très aromatique, fin, fruité, pur et subtil. En bouche, le vin se développe sur un corps gras et complet, de la classe dans le toucher et un beau relief aromatique. Persistance sur des tannins fins. C’est délicieux ! L’élevage pourrait le faire dépasser Batailley. Assemblage : 74 % cabernet sauvignon, 26 % merlot. Degré d’alcool : 14°2 – pH : 3,8. Rendement : 42 hl/ha. »
