    A round and easy wine with dark-berry and chocolate character. Medium body, soft tannins and a fresh finish. Attractive second wine.

    Composed of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot, the 2017 Les Hauts de Lynch Moussas is medium garnet-purple in color with a pronounced black and red currants nose with hints of pencil lead, cigar box and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy frame and plenty of lift on the earthy finish.

    Very pretty second wine of Lynch-Moussas with soft yet driven tannins and a juicy, fruity and savory palate. A beauty.

    That Merlot comes through quite strongly on the nose with black cherry and blackcurrant aromas, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, good body with a harmonous, cedar and allspice tinged finish. Note: This will be released once the wine has been bottled and not during en primeur.

    A bright and elegant nose with distinctive orange zest, red fruits and a lighter floral edge, which leads into a palate with an open-knit, easygoing structure and a neat ball of slightly creamy red fruits to close. Drink or hold.

    Sweet start. Rather polished and fun for early drinking. Very flattering! Though much earlier maturing than the grand vin.

    Loads of blackberries, Chinese tea and blackcurrants on the nose. Aromatic. Full body and integrated and velvety tannins. Hot-stone and walnut-skin undertones. Intense. Better in 2021.

    The 2014 Les Hauts de Lynch Moussas has an open-knit bouquet with plenty of brambly red berry fruit, limestone, tobacco and almost flint-like scents. There is certainly very good delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, good acidity, the quality of this Pauillac evident on the second half that has wonderful focus and intensity, graphite and black pepper lingering in the mouth. Wow—this really surpasses expectations vis-à-vis its showing in barrel.

    The 2013 Les Hauts de Lynch Moussas has a better nose than I anticipated with sufficient brambly red berry fruit on the nose. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp tannin and a fine line of acidity, tart cherry fruit with a twist of orange zest on the short but attractive finish. Not bad at all considering the vintage.
